hm... BRS kinda grew on me after a while. It was meh, but eventually I even got to the point that I recorded myself singing it. (not that I'm releasing that monstrosity to the public. hah) And there are many other songs that can break people's ears. This doesn't come close, imo.

I didn't really find that all too high... I was able to sing it fairly comfortably without cracking up. (my point of reference is Rin's Meltdown/Roshin Yuukai... so, yeah)

Maybe it's because I like reading the translations of lyrics...
That usually is nearly on a same level as the music itself when I judge a song.
They're somewhat simple, yes, but (in terms of lyrics) it has a somewhat somber start and gets uplifting at the end, so I think it kinda fits the music.

Also, it could be my supposedly weird tendency to like EVERYTHING. Even if I don't particularly like something, it rarely gets to the point that I'll actively hate it.

And maybe also, it could be my tendency to never really get into the fan hype, since I'm generally detached and do my own searches for random videos/music. In the touhou fandom, the Bad Apple song was a fun song, and it seems that it was overhyped to a point that it just ruined it for some people.

And maybe #4: I only listen to the Vocaloid versions like, a few times. Way less times compared to the covers I listen to. Once other people sing it is when I fall in love with a song. I particularly like Choucho's version of BRS. [link]

So, tl,dr; I liked it. Definitely not gonna win any awards, but I liked it.

Really? XD
BRS already hurt my ears. But I think this is actually a matter of taste.

I like to read lyrics too.
I wouldn't like some songs if I didn't read the lyrics (Aku no Musume cough cough cough).
Others already have great instrumental and just later I check the lyrics.

I like Choucho's voice too.
But I think she sing better other songs
Maybe because the melody of BRS doesn't attract me too.

haha, yeah... It's probably a taste thign. My tastes in music aren't very critical at all.

From Kajiura and Kanno, to classical, to rock, to rap, to trance, to bubbly J-Pop, I listen to them all. (usually not all at the same time though heh)

It's like my tastes in anime. I absolutely love watching more mature anime like Kino no Tabi, Mushishi, or Ghost in the Shell, but I indulge in moeblobbery and fanservice too (K-ON, Strike Witches, Nanoha, etc.)

And on the topic of Vocaloid vocalists, halyosy's falsetto voice still amazes me. I think he sometimes puts a liiitle too much emotion in his songs though. (see signature) haha...

Hey, me too! I have a wide range of music taste, so I don't have a genre that I specifically like.

The funny part is that there are some songs I like that I know that they aren't considered good, but I enjoy listening once in a while.

I tend to listen to instrumental songs, classic, piano, anything...but specially of games. They give me good feelings.
And Ghost in the Shell has an amazing OST. As well as Yoko Kanno OST, Yuki Kajiura, and others.

The one that I became addicted these days was Okami soundtrack.

I think I don't know Halyosy...

As for game composers, I'm partial to Yasunori Mitsuda. ^^

Oh, halyosy is fun to listen to. I like his slower songs, but he got popular from covers of the more popular Vocaloid songs. You can find them around if you're interested.

A few of his songs: (the ones other than BRS, Double Lariat, Just be Friends, etc):
Conbini: [link]

Not Vocaloid, but amazed that he composed a full out song out this one (was originally a minimalist instrumental made with just Windows XP sounds).
Hello Windows: [link]

Made a real nice, slow version of Melt after his original Melt vid got a million hits.

Wow, Halyosy has a wonderful voice!
I'm impressed! It's soft, sweet and calm.
Thanks for sending me the link. The voice and story were so nice! ^^

And he also composes well! I never though windows song would turn out so pretty!
That is really amazing!
