This is an interesting piece of work. To start with, I like the details you've given Kaori's hair and eyes. You can really see the shyness in her eyes and facial expression, and the way her bangs hang over her face and head are not only a nice touch, but give her a definite tomboy edge. And yes, I will admit, I sort of have a thing for bangs, but I'm not going down that road. Also, the way her shirt hangs down over her body gives her an air of vulnerability, almost as though she's been through some sort of ordeal.

Off the subject of Kaori herself, the texture she's kneeling on-is that a cushion of some kind? It's a nice addition. It's nice in that it adds to the subtlety of her shy manner around the one she likes, as you pointed out. Maybe she's meeting him or something? I'm only guessing.

If I had to offer constructive criticism, it would be on several points. First off, both of Kaori's hands are barely viewable. The one on her chest is covered up by the sleeve of her shirt, I know, but it's done in a way that hides it a bit too much, almost like a gauntlet. It would be a bit better if it were placed in her lap, or clutching at something else so we could see more of it. Her other hand, although we can see more of it, is positioned in a way that looks just a bit on the cartoonish side. Again, it's just the position.

Finally, here's something that may surprise you: it would be nice if in the description of the pic you told us a little bit of Kaori's background. Maybe that's just me, but I like to know a little of a character's history to go along with the pic, since it sets the mood. This is clearly meant to personify your OC, so in my opinion, there should be a little bit of history to add to the effect, and quite frankly, there seems to be a bit of darkness in this. But again, that's just me.

But overall, I like this. You're a great artist, and you should keep up the good work. Welcome to the list.
